Na manhã desta terça-feira (7), vereadores aprovaram, na 5ª Sessão Ordinária/2023, a concessão para iniciativa privada do Complexo Cultural da Praça das Artes.
O Projeto Lei nº 006/2023 que autoriza a concessão de uso parcial para operação, manutenção e gestão do Complexo Cultural Praça das Artes é de autoria do prefeito Rubens Furlan. Os presidentes das comissões, de Redação e Justiça, vereador Wilson Zuffa, de Finanças, vereador Reinaldo Campos e Cultura, vereador Hélio Junior, emitiram o parecer favorável a privatização.

O vereador Rafa Carvalho, na tribuna, defendeu o projeto de autoria do prefeito e comparou a privatização da Praça das Artes, a privatização da Arena Barueri, aprovada em 7 de fevereiro de 2023. “Aprovamos há uns dias atrás a terceirização da Arena Barueri, isso que o custo da Arena é um absurdo para o munícipio arcar […] falando com o secretário de esportes (Tom Moíses) nós tínhamos um gasto de quase R$ 500 mil por mês para manter aquela estrutura. […] Esse é um atual modelo de gestão no país, […] quando o prefeito manda essa parte (concessão) parcial, eu não tenho dúvidas que também vai diminuir os gastos para se manter toda aquela infraestrutura”, declarou.
O Projeto de Lei em foi aprovado em votação, com maioria simples e, apenas um voto contrário, do vereador Leandrinho Dantas e uma ausência, do vereador Kaskata.
Complexo Cultura da Praça da Artes
Inaugurado em 22 de outubro de 2022, o Complexo Cultural Praça das Artes é um projeto arquitetônico arrojado, assinado por Ruy Othake (1938-2021), uma das principais referências em Arquitetura do Brasil e do mundo.
Localizado no Bairro Boa Vista, a Praça das Artes tem 22 mil metros quadrados distribuídos em três pavimentos, um teatro com 950 lugares com equipamentos de última geração, salas para o ensino de dança, teatro, música, artes visuais, circo e outras atividades artísticas, espaços administrativos que sediam a Secretaria de Cultura e Turismo, auditório para 130 pessoas e inúmeros outros espaços planejados para receber mostras, performances e diversos tipos de manifestações culturais.
O complexo cultural tem ainda sala multimídia, espaço de leitura, seis salas para palestras e 283 vagas de estacionamento para carros e motos.
